Weaving Words

This is a creative writing wellbeing workshop that explores the Māori health model, Te Whare Tapa Whā, through collective creation and shared storytelling. This workshop emphasises collaboration, creative writing, and the power of group effort, allowing participants to connect deeply with each other and contribute to a shared artistic expression.

​​Workshop Outline:

Introduction and Warm-up:

  • Warm-up exercises and group mood check-ins to set the tone for collective engagement

  • Introduction to the concept of Te Whare Tapa Whā and its relevance to teamwork and community wellbeing

  • Establishing intentions as a group and exploring the significance of collective creativity

Main Activities:

  • Group Discussion: Participants will engage in a collaborative conversation around the four dimensions of wellbeing, sharing personal insights and exploring how these elements can be woven into their collective experience.

  • Collaborative Art-Making: Teams will work together on a creative writing project, blending words, thoughts, and artistic elements to produce a unique piece that reflects their collective journey. This shared creation symbolises the interconnectedness of the group and the power of collaborative effort.
